Before you decide
What happens to my PDFs if I downgrade?
Nothing is deleted. Your library stays intact and readable — you simply can't add new PDFs beyond the free limit until you're back under it or upgrade again.
Do my notes leave with me?
Anota is local-first: your PDFs open from your device and are backed up to your private account, so your library is there wherever you sign in. Every plan, including free, can export notes as Markdown.
Can I switch plans later?
Any time, from the billing section of your account page. Cancelling leaves you on the free plan with your library intact rather than locking you out.
Is there a student discount?
The Student plan is the discount — it's priced for people buying it themselves, and there's no institutional email required.
Start with five PDFs.
Decide later.
No card, no trial countdown. Upgrade the day your library outgrows the free plan — not before.
